If you're looking for an everyday Syrah that consistently delivers flavour and value for money, try this remarkable red, sourced from seven vineyard sites and three soil types. Violets, white pepper, iodine, lavender and red and black fruits are framed by fine tannins and refreshing acidity.
We're delighted to offer the 2013 vintage of Mullineux & Leeu Family Wine's superb Syrah. Growing worldwide demand has limited the amount that we are able to offer but the quality is as good as ever. Similar in style to the 2011 vintage, you will be happily rewarded if you can squirrel this away for 5-10 years.
The Mullineux family have been making wine with this fruit since 2004 - it used to go into one of the reds at Tulbagh Mountain Vineyards - and you can see why they rate it so highly. Floral, structured and pepper spicy, with a thrilling core of minerality, this Syrah is effortlessly complex and set for a long life in bottle. Beautifully focused.
Grapes for the 2012 Iron Syrah were sourced from a single parcel of organically farmed dry land bush vines on the rolling iron-rich soils west of Malmesbury. This parcel of Syrah gives the best expression of the “koffieklip” terroir – broadness and mid-palate.
